Privacy Policy

The short version

LoreKind stores your account, your young reader's profile, and the stories you generate so your library is there the next time you open the app. We share the minimum needed with the services that actually do the work — Anthropic writes the story text, OpenAI generates illustrations, Supabase hosts the database, Razorpay handles payment. We never sell your data. You can delete your account and everything in it at any time from your dashboard.

What we collect

• Account info: the email address you sign up with, and — if you use email/password sign-in rather than Google — a password, which Supabase stores hashed, never in plain text. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account's email and basic profile info.
• Young reader profile info: the name, age, and interests you enter for each young reader profile. This is entered by you, the parent — young readers do not create their own accounts, log in, or enter their own information anywhere in LoreKind.
• Story inputs: the lesson, interest, optional situational context, and any rewrite notes you provide when generating a story, plus the generated story text and illustrations themselves.
• Subscription status: which plan you're on and your Razorpay subscription ID. We do not receive or store your full card or payment details — those go directly to Razorpay.

How your data is used to generate a story — including AI

Story generation is powered by AI. When you create a story, your young reader's first name, age, the lesson you picked, their interest, and any context you added are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to write the story text. If illustrations are enabled on your plan, short excerpts of the generated story are separately sent to OpenAI's image API to create the pictures. Both providers process this data to generate the requested content under their own respective data processing terms; we don't control their internal handling beyond what they publish.

We chose to include your young reader's first name and age because it makes stories feel personal — a generic "your young reader" story reads noticeably worse. If you'd rather we didn't send a name, use a nickname or placeholder in the young reader's profile instead of their real name.

Who else we share data with

• Supabase hosts our database, authentication, and file storage (story illustrations). Your account and story data lives on Supabase's infrastructure.
• Razorpay processes subscription payments for paid plans. Billing details you enter at checkout go directly to Razorpay under their own privacy policy.
• Vercel hosts the application itself and may log basic, aggregate technical data (like page load performance) to keep the site running well.

We do not sell your data or your young reader's information to anyone, for any reason.

Young readers' data

LoreKind is a tool for parents, not a service that young readers use directly. Young reader profiles are created and managed entirely by the parent account holder; young readers never sign in, never enter their own data, and are never presented with a form of any kind. We do not knowingly collect information directly from young readers.

Cookies & local storage

We use a session token, stored in your browser, to keep you signed in between visits. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Security

Every table in our database uses row-level security, meaning the database itself enforces that a parent account can only ever read or write its own young readers, stories, and illustrations — not just the application code. Passwords are hashed by Supabase Auth; we never see or store them in plain text.

Deleting your data

You can delete an individual young reader profile or story at any time from your dashboard. You can also permanently delete your entire account — including every young reader profile, story, and illustration — from your account settings. Deletion is immediate and permanent; we don't keep a backup copy around after you ask us to remove it. If you'd rather we handle it for you, email us at the address below.

Changes to this policy

If we materially change what we collect or how we use it, we'll update this page and change the "last updated" date above. This is a young product — expect this policy to evolve as LoreKind does.
